JNJF EXPANDS THE VSLA INITAITIVE AT GOVERNMENT WHARF COMMUNITY


Today, March 18, 2024, the Jamil and Nyanga Jaward Foundation convene with the women of Government Wharf community, to start implementing the Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) program. Foundation representatives brought all essential materials, symbolizing that a journey towards financial empowerment and self-sufficiency for widows had begun.

During the gathering, foundation staff carefully introduced the women to the VSLA equipment, demonstrating each item's purpose in unlocking brighter prospects. Distributing passbooks, ledgers and the VSLA box representing tangible program commencement and keys to new futures.

Recognizing guideline importance, dedicated staff actively assist women establishing clear, fair and transparent rules governing their initiative - fostering trust and accountability.

Deeply grateful widows expressed their thanks for the unwavering dedication of the foundation to uplifting lives through invaluable advocacy, resources and backings empowering transformation. Chairlady Umu Mansary conveyed heartfelt appreciation to the founder for their commitments impacts, the foundation has been making in their community. She also prayed for their continued blessings and to keep on making profound difference for widows' and community's well-beings.

The VSLA program will provide savings, investment and affordable loans - cultivating not just independence but unity, resilience and empowerment. The foundation's vision inspires hope through sustainable prioritizations of marginalized communities' empowerment for dignified participation in development, where stability and determination become realities for all.
